Our story

About Grand Dune Luxury Camp

A small camp, a wide desert, and hospitality shaped by life in the Sahara. This is who we are and why we welcome guests the way we do.

“Stay close to what matters. Grand Dune is a small, considered Merzouga desert camp made for slowing down.”

Warmth is our luxury

A camp shaped by local desert life

Grand Dune Luxury Camp is rooted in the Merzouga desert and in the everyday life of Erg Chebbi. We welcome guests with the simple comforts of a peaceful private tent, sweet Moroccan tea and food prepared with care.

Our hospitality follows the rhythm of Sahara culture — generous, unhurried and connected to the landscape that surrounds us. Because the camp is small, hosting stays personal: we can take the time to share the desert with you, answer your questions and make sure your stay feels like yours.

What we stand for

Small by choice, personal by nature

The way we host is no accident. It comes from living close to the desert.

An intimate camp

Six private tents mean few guests, quiet days and space to breathe. You will never feel like one of hundreds at Grand Dune.

Genuine Moroccan hospitality

Mint tea on arrival, food made with care and a welcome that treats every guest like a visitor to our home — this is the Sahara way of hosting.

Connected to Erg Chebbi

We live beside the dunes we share with you. Camel men, guides and local families all belong to this landscape, and that connection shapes everything you experience.

Peace, protected

The silence of the desert is the rarest luxury we offer. We keep the camp calm so you can truly hear it — and the stars feel closer at night.

Honest, personal service

Questions are answered by the people who run the camp, not a call centre. From booking to bonfire, communication is direct and human.

A place to slow down

No clocks, no rush. Sunrise walks, unhurried dinners and long evenings under the sky — leave with the Sahara’s rhythm in your step.

A small camp. A big desert.

Why we stay small

We have chosen to keep Grand Dune to six tents on purpose. It lets us care for each guest properly, keep the dunes around the camp quiet, and preserve the feeling that the desert is yours for a while.

There are bigger camps in Merzouga. We would rather be the one where the tea is poured for you by name, where the sunset spot is never crowded and where you fall asleep to nothing but the wind.

What to expect

A typical stay, in simple terms

  • Mint tea & a warm welcome arrival, whenever you reach the dunes
  • A private tent of your own with a private bathroom
  • Sunset or sunrise on the dunes and stars if you stay up
  • Real Moroccan meals prepared at camp with care

Every stay is arranged personally — dates, tent, meals and any experiences are confirmed with you before arrival.

A quiet place of your own

The desert, at your own pace

Grand Dune is small enough that the dunes around the camp rarely feel busy. Walk in any direction and the sand quickly becomes yours — a place to be alone with your thoughts, to watch the light shift, or simply to sit and listen to the silence.

Some guests come for the adventure, others for the rest. Both are welcome, and neither is rushed. You decide how much of the desert you want to meet, and when.
